About
Happy Kids Preschool & Child Care Centers offers a full early education program that includes science, math, arts, early literacy, pre-kindergarten readiness, sensory activities, and activities that build large and small motor skills. The program offers free nutritious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snack, for all children. The Infant/Toddler program is based on the “Program for Infant Toddler curriculum” developed from WestEd and the State Department of Education, and the overall program is based on best practices for infants and toddlers and uses recent research on brain development.

Happy Kids Preschool & Child Care Centers has over 30 highly qualified, trained, and motivated teachers, and most teachers hold a Child Development Teacher Permit issued through the State of California Teacher Credentialing. The program’s mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and success-oriented environment where children experience the joy of learning and develop a positive self-image, and its philosophy is to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment while supporting families so that the transition from home to school is a happy and rewarding one for the entire family. The program follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation Program Standards, and the centers provide free meals through the CACFP. Happy Kids has been selected by the California Department of Education to provide full-day funded childcare and half-day State Preschool services to qualifying families in El Dorado County. Happy Kids Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and all children are offered the same meals with no segregation or other discrimination, including protections related to gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
