Children take part in activities such as homework time, academic enrichment, arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, parkour, tumbling, dance, sports, science/STEM projects, character development, field trips, and on-site enrichment.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: After School Program operates mid-August through early June, and Summer Camp operates for 10 weeks from early June to mid-August with full-day care from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM.
North County Martial Arts Youth Programs is an adult-led program with CPR, First Aid, and AED-certified staff and trained, consistent adult staff. The studio has been in business since 2000 and has been serving the Carlsbad, San Marcos, and Encinitas communities for over two decades. The program is backed by an official designation as a California Heritage School and is described as structured and professional rather than a recreation program. Families receive one free week before enrolling, and parents get daily updates in a private parent Facebook group. The program offers year-round care, encourages family participation in special events, and has offered once-a-month Ninja nights that give couples alone time. The mission of North County Martial Arts is to focus on more than physical fitness by teaching life skills such as respect, resilience, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline, confidence, and empathy, with an emphasis on developing the whole child physically, socially, and emotionally. Testimonials from parents and students highlight the instructors, aftercare, karate and other activities, responsiveness, and the role of the studio as both a physical outlet and a learning center.
