North County Classical Ballet

North County Classical Ballet offers classes and activities including Pre-ballet, Preparatory Ballet, Academy Ballet 1–10, Ballet Technique, Classical Variation, Character Dance, Contemporary, Jazz, Stretch, Pre-ballet Stretch, Acro, Adult Ballet, Boys Ballet, and Private Lessons. The program also provides choreography for gymnastics, figure skating, ballet competition, modern ballet, and Quinceanera waltz, along with summer camps and a stage production twice yearly.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes run Monday to Saturday, with summer camps for ages 7–18 running for four weeks in July and August; specific 2017 sessions include Pre-ballet (ages 3–6) from July 10–14, Intermediate (ages 7–10) from July 17–August 4, and Advanced Ballet (ages 11–18) from July 17–August 4.

North County Classical Ballet states that it is dedicated to bringing the beauty of classical ballet via the Vaganova method to the whole community, with a goal of instilling in students a passion and a love for the art of classical ballet. Training is led by world-class teacher and choreographer Valeri Tchekachev according to the Vaganova Method, with instructors Valeri Tchekachev, Tatiana Techekacheva, Lauren Jackson, My Le Daley, and Irodanka “Dani” Kovatchka. The studio welcomes dancers of all ages from Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Marcos, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, and San Diego, and presents a Cinderella spring performance on June 14th, 2026 at 3 pm at the Oceanside Performing Arts Theater.

Lauren Jackson has been training in dance since age two, received most of her training at competitive and ballet-focused studios in Riverside and San Diego County, has 9 years of teaching experience, and holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine; her choreography has received numerous high point and top choreography awards at regional and national competitions, and her students have received scholarship awards, cash prizes, and agency representation. My Le Daley began gymnastics at age 7, trained as an individual rhythmic gymnast through age 15, competed nationally and internationally, was part of a group rhythmic gymnastics team that placed second all around at the national championship, has worked as a rhythmic gymnastics coach at the Ecke Family YMCA in Encinitas since 2013, and is studying dance and sports medicine at Mira Costa College. Irodanka “Dani” Kovatchka is head coach of the Rhythmic Gymnastics department at the Ecke YMCA, was a member of the Bulgarian national team with two European championship gold medals, one world cup gold medal, and one world championship gold medal, has coached rhythmic gymnastics for 25 years in Spain, Bulgaria, and for 13 years in the U.S., and has coached athletes including Monica and Jennifer Rockhman, who joined the U.S. national team and competed in the World Cup Championships, Pan American Games, and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games representing the USA group national team. Irodanka “Dani” Kovatchka has been awarded best coach of the year for Region 1 and was voted best coach overall for USAG at national championships.
