Belle Kitchen Carmel by the Sea – Macaron Classes focuses on macaron baking and cooking classes that are completely hands-on. Participants create macarons from scratch, including baking macarons, piping macarons, and filling macarons, and leave with a full dozen macarons. The class covers what a great macaron is, how macarons are created from three basic ingredients (eggs, almond flour, sugar), and includes discussion of flavors and other types of filling.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes are offered most Saturdays, with about 1.5 to 2 hours of solid, professional instruction, and private groups, team building, and celebrations can be accommodated on additional days and times.
In these small, hands-on classes, all tools, equipment, ingredients, instructions, and recipes are supplied. Instruction includes how macaronage (macaron batter) should look when it is ready to be piped, how to perfectly pipe macarons, how they should feel when properly cured and ready for the oven, and guidance for those who have never used a piping bag.
