Carpinteria Children’s Project – Early Childhood Education (Preschool) offers early childhood education for children through its “Early Childhood Education: Ages 2-5” program. Families connected with the program can also access activities and supports such as Family Life Coaching, Healthy Child Development Support, and Promotores de Salud, as well as opportunities like Volunteer Opportunities, Mommy and Me, Fathers’ Group, Nurturing Parent, Family Literature, Parent Cafe, and English as a Second Language. The program’s stated mission is “Healthy families. Successful children. Strong community.” Carpinteria Children’s Project is the coordinating hub of the Thrive Carpinteria Partner Network, which is a formal partnership of early childhood education and social services providers who serve families as a team. It partners with three on-site providers: Family Service Agency, Sanctuary Centers, and Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, and Compassionate Care of Carpinteria has a counseling office connected to the program. The program offers on-site therapy services through three partner providers and offers free confidential, professional counseling for grief and life-threatening illness through Compassionate Care of Carpinteria. It provides groceries and essentials delivery for individuals avoiding public spaces due to immigration enforcement, offers financial support for families in need, and provides bilingual services (Servicios Bilingües). For the monthly food distribution, participants are asked to bring their own bags. The Carpinteria Children’s Project contributes to and learns from efforts across Santa Barbara County and participates in the Network of Family Resource Centers, the Pediatric Resilience Collaborative hosted by Cottage Health, and KIDS Network hosted by the Department of Social Services.
