California Dance Academy

California Dance Academy offers Summer Intensives, Children’s Dance Camps, Boys Scholarships, and a Pre-Professional Company, with classical ballet as the foundation and training in multiple dance styles. Students also participate in a full-length Nutcracker every December. The studio provides instruction from experienced, caring faculty in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and modern.

California Dance Academy’s ballet instructors collectively have the most professional experience of any studio in the valley, and its contemporary, jazz, and modern teachers are award-winning performers and choreographers who continue to develop themselves as artists. The studio is led by Artistic Director Jennifer Shahani, Executive Director Robbin Shahani, and Associate Director Jennifer Currier, who bought the studio in 2008 and rebranded it as California Dance Academy. Its mission states that the program focuses on rigorous study of dance, developing discipline, artistry, and grace under pressure, and on students and families finding joy in studying dance, pursuing excellence, and performing, described as “Celebrating the Art of Dance.” One parent, Jenny G., shares that her daughter is growing a love for dance at California Dance Academy and that the program builds foundational skills needed to thrive in dance and beyond.
