About the provider

The studio was bought in 2008 and rebranded as California Dance Academy. Jennifer Shahani is the Artistic Director, Robbin Shahani is the Executive Director, and Jennifer Currier is the Associate Director. The academy says it is "celebrating the art of dance" and wants to build the kind of dance environment they wanted for their own daughters and for all those who might want to make dance a part of their lives.

California Dance Academy says it offers a true dance education in all styles, with classical ballet as the foundation. It states that a minimum of two Ballet classes per week is required at the Beginning C level and higher, unless only taking Hip Hop or Tap. It also states that dancers wishing to take Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical or Musical Theatre must take ballet class to gain the foundation needed for the alternate styles.

What families say

“My daughter is growing a love for dance because of CDA and the program they have created. They truly understand the value of starting young and building the foundational skills needed to thrive in dance and beyond.” — Jenny G., CDA Parent
