About

Ride On offers adaptive riding for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Specially trained PATH International qualified instructors teach horsemanship skills to riders with varying ability levels. The program also offers outpatient physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy that uses the movement of the horse as one treatment tool, plus beginner and intermediate English or western riding lessons for the general public and siblings of riders.

  • Able-bodied Riding — $70 per class · Lessons for the general public and siblings of riders; beginner or intermediate English or western style lessons.
  • Veterans Services — Mounted and unmounted programs to veterans.
  • Para-Equestrian Dressage — Ride On is a Center of Excellence-delivering the USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage Program.

About the provider

Founded in 1994, Ride On serves 250 individuals each week and has given over 170,000 safe, effective and individualized lessons and therapy treatments. It is the only Premier accredited program offering Adaptive Riding, and Physical, Occupational & Speech and Language Therapy in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, and it is a US Equestrian Federation Center of Excellence for Para Equestrian Dressage and a PATH International Premier Accredited Center.

All riders wear an ASTM-SEI approved helmet and use standard English or western tack or equipment specially adapted to their needs. Riders should wear long pants and closed toe shoes or boots. Staff evaluates students and determines lesson length. Lessons are temporarily closed on adaptive riding waitlists at all locations, effective immediately. Therapy is an outpatient clinic with individualized care using a transdisciplinary team approach.
