The Dance School LA

The Dance School LA offers dance classes that include weekly group classes, private lessons, shared lessons, adult classes, and both live-online and in-person dance classes. Students participate in training and classes with premiere dance professionals, choreographers, and instructors who are active members and leaders of the current dance industry in Los Angeles and abroad. The program emphasizes integrating safe practices into training based on teachers’ general understanding of how the human body works.

The Dance School LA began as an online studio in January 2021 and expanded into a physical space in June 2021. The school was founded by Carissa Songhorian, who also serves as Director Carissa. Teachers at The Dance School LA have a general understanding of the human body and how it works.

The stated goal of The Dance School LA is to foster a fun and nurturing environment where students can develop as dancers, artists, and individuals, with an emphasis on growth, relationships, optimism, creativity, thoughtfulness and diversity, and the health of the dancer’s mind and body. The school has a non-discrimination policy that does not discriminate against any color, race, gender, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation and will admit any individual interested in dance and/or fitness education who respects these values. Students have the opportunity, right, and privilege to be part of programs, events, and performances.

The Dance School LA is dedicated to bringing dance to the cities of Chatsworth, Northridge, Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, California and abroad. The school offers a free trial class through a complimentary class pass. There is free parking for all clients in front of The Dance School LA building, facing Devonshire Street.
