About
Byers Gymnastics Recreational & Competitive Programs offers Parent Participation, Pre-School, Recreational Gymnastics, Homeschool, Flip and Fit, Tumbling, and Competitive Gymnastics classes. The program also hosts birthday parties that include fun gym time with a gymnastics coach and party coordinator, as well as Practice Gym sessions where gymnasts can work on skills they have learned in class. Families can also choose events such as Parents Night Out, which provides 4–5 hours of supervised activity time at the gym and includes pizza.
• Ages: 1–17 years old
Byers Gymnastics Center states that its mission is to teach young athletes how to succeed not only in sports but in life, and that every athlete on the Competitive Team is expected to exhibit integrity, honesty, strength, and commitment in all aspects of life. The mission also states that coaches and athletes are expected to speak in a polite and respectful manner, that athletes accept others who are different from themselves and work together to support each other’s goals, and that the program is built on a strong foundation as a “family away from home.”
Parent testimonials describe coaches as amazing, patient, fun, enthusiastic, firm, and knowledgeable, and mention a calm and exciting atmosphere. One parent notes that their child has been attending for a year and loves it, another appreciates the breakdown of classes by age in a structured environment, and another highlights a specific coach, Miss Vikki, as patient, knowledgeable, and able to bring out a child’s potential. The program notes that birthday parties are offered every weekend and that each birthday child receives a Gold Medal and Drawstring Backpack.
