The Family Adventure Program includes camping, hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, gold panning, tubing, naturalist-led hikes, fireside stories, and stargazing. Families can also join educational family adventure and Gold Rush outdoor experiential programs, including naturalist-led hikes through time and Gold Rush history learning experiences.
Since 1989, Coloma Resort has been family-owned and operated by the Faieta Family. Fred and Marielle Faieta turned a run-down mobile home park that was condemned by the county into the family camping resort and educational facility that operates today. Coloma Resort states that it commits to providing a high-quality family recreational experience in a safe and clean facility while inspiring a love of nature, adventure and history. Coloma Resort is home-base to the overnight, outdoor educational field trip programs offered by Coloma Outdoor Discovery School (CODS). The resort features nearly one mile of riverfront camping, cabin camping, RV camping, tent camping, an onsite summer activity schedule, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and a General Store that sells tubes, life jackets, gold pans, and gold vials. Tubes and life jackets are available for sale in the General Store, and life jackets are required for tubing. The Coloma Resort Camp Store provides instructional handouts for gold panning, and campers can use high speed Wi-Fi to view the Argonaut Cafe menu and place orders.
