DYF Diabetes Camps and Family Programs is in its 88th season offering diabetes support programs. The mission of DYF is to improve the quality of life for children, teens and families affected by diabetes by providing education and recreation within a supportive community, encouraging personal growth, knowledge and independence. The staff is trained in type 1 diabetes management, most staff members have diabetes themselves, and healthcare professionals lead diabetes education sessions and support groups, with world-class endocrinologist and diabetes care teams available all week long at Family Camp. The program uses a tiered pricing structure with full fee, subsidized fee, and scholarship options, along with monthly in-house, interest-free financing, 6- or 12-month financing terms, and a Crowdfund Your Fee option where contributions apply directly to program fees. DYF states that scholarships, payment plans, pricing tiers, and crowdfunding are available for all programs, and notes that these rates and scholarship options are supported by donations from community organizations, families, donors, and fundraisers. The institution states that it is an equal opportunity provider operating under a special use permit with the Sequoia National Forest. An Early Bird Discount allows families to save up to $500 by registering before January 31st, and registration is described as open and expected to fill quickly. Crowdfunding pages for fees close on August 31, 2025 (or October 31st for Fall Retreat participants), and if crowdfunding does not cover fees by the closing date, the participant is automatically placed on a 6‑month payment plan for the remaining balance; contributions to these crowdfunding pages are not tax-deductible and benefit the participant directly.
