About
Corona-Norco Family YMCA Youth Programs include Child Care at the Y, Swim Lessons, Music Lessons, Youth Flag Football, Youth Soccer, a Teen Art Workshop, Healthy Kids Day, and a Youth Sports Program. Music Lessons at the Y include piano, guitar, drums, and voice. Swim Lessons at the Y focus on water safety, stroke development, and building a lifelong love for swimming, and the Youth Sports Program focuses on building skills, teamwork, confidence, and friendships that last beyond the field.
• Schedule: Weekday program options, including general YMCA hours from 6am–6pm Monday–Friday and a Teen Leadership Academy operating Monday–Friday from 3pm–6pm
Since 1974, the Corona-Norco Family YMCA has operated as a non-profit community-based organization. Its stated mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The organization focuses its work in three areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, and it teaches character development values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
The Corona-Norco Family YMCA states that it is committed to nurturing the potential of children through Youth Development, improving health and well-being through Healthy Living, and fostering Social Responsibility by providing ways to give back and support neighbors. Healthy Kids Day is described as the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families and is a free community event.
One participant in the music program, Adelina Lanza-Martinez, shares that being part of the YMCA has given her self-discipline and a strong desire to create music, and that her musical dreams are to become an artist and learn to play all genres. A youth sports coach, Coach Ana, describes coaching youth sports at the YMCA as a profoundly fulfilling experience and says the YMCA’s commitment to fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience aligns with her personal values.
For youth sports, jersey sales have been moved to a new online uniform store through the official partner Momentec. All athletes are required to purchase a new jersey for the upcoming season because the jerseys have been updated and differ from previous seasons, and jersey shorts are a one-time purchase that can be used across all sports programs offered at the YMCA.
