Midweek Hebrew at Nitzanim
Even a little knowledge of the Hebrew language provides keys to open the doors of Judaism's treasure houses. Nitzanim offers midweek Hebrew learning for beginning and continuing students, 4th grade and up. Classes meet the first three Wednesday afternoons each month at Congregation Ner Shalom in Cotati.
Each session launches school-wide with song, conversation, and play — helping young people build comfort with basic Hebrew vocabulary and communication.
The Basics Class | 4:00–5:00 PM For students new to Hebrew: master the alef-bet and Hebrew pronunciation, connecting the written word to what students have already learned orally.
Parents are welcome to register and learn alongside their children at no extra charge — a wonderful opportunity for side-by-side learning!
The Continuing Class | 5:00–6:00 PM For students building on existing skills: increase reading proficiency and explore Torah chanting, Shabbat prayers, and the rich musical traditions of Jewish communities around the world.
