About

Dreamor Ranch offers horseback riding lessons, including riding lessons in the arena and lessons on the trails. The program includes instruction in riding and responsible horse care, with many schooling horses and several levels of classes available. Dreamor Ranch is first and foremost a rescue for horses and ponies in need, rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing horses into forever homes, and also offers activities such as Gymkhana, Team Penning, Cattle Sorting, Jumping, and Parades through programs like Dreamor Adventures and the Champion Dreamor Team.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

Dreamor Ranch began in 1976 when a 5‑month‑old Palomino colt named Joey was rescued as the ranch’s first rescue, and in the almost 40 years that have followed, it has rescued, rehabilitated, and placed hundreds of horses into forever homes. The ranch works closely with San Benito Animal Control, local veterinarians, and other agencies to foster, rehabilitate, and place horses that have been mistreated or discarded, and it runs many outreach programs supported by the Dreamor Ranch Foundation. The Dreamor Ranch Foundation’s stated goals include building leaders by giving extraordinary experiences in areas of scholarship and community outreach and supporting the ranch’s horse rescue and rehabilitation programs, with all monies earned from the riding programs going to feeding and rehabilitating horses.

Dreamor Ranch is led by Mindy Sullivan, who majored in Horse Science and Behavioral Studies in college, has 40+ years of experience as a trainer, and has produced many champion riders in Gymkhana, Team Penning, Cattle Sorting, and Jumping, as well as two Olympic athletes. Mindy works in a language the horse can understand and raises, trains, and rehabilitates horses by being their partner and friend, and she maintains a close relationship with her veterinarians. Her stated motto is that no horse person should ever consider themselves to be an expert and that there is always something new to learn.
