Valley Sports Camp specializes in youth summer sports camps and after school enrichment programs for boys and girls entering Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Kids are grouped by age/grade levels, such as PreK/Kinder, 1st/2nd, 3rd, 4th/5th, and 6th–8th, with groupings adjusted at times based on the number of kids registered. Kids in Before and After Camp Care play a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities and are provided an afternoon snack, and this program takes place in an indoor facility.

The camp’s mission states that coaches emphasize fun, teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship while teaching a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports games. Each day focuses on a different character trait, called “Words of the Day,” which kids discuss and practice with their peers and coach. The mission also states that camps and classes are designed for every level of athleticism, that strategic team building activities are used to help campers develop relationships and a sense of belonging, and that goals include building self-esteem, encouraging active and physically fit lives, and helping campers leave with more confidence and a love of sports.

According to the program, 1–2 days during the week all multi-sport and basketball campers go to Blackberry Farm for sports games and swimming. Campers walk through Monta Vista High School and cross McClellan Road at a crosswalk with crossing guards to walk down Byrne Road on the sidewalk to Blackberry Farm, and parents may choose drop off and pick up at Blackberry Farm instead of having their children walk. Blackberry Farm has full-time lifeguards, offers optional life jackets, and staff supervise on the pool edges and in the pool. Pre-K and Kinder children are only allowed in the pool with a life jacket unless parents opt out, and they go into the shallow part of the pool where they can stand, while older children must pass a swim test by Blackberry Farm lifeguards to use the water slide or deep end. Swimming is optional, and other games are provided for kids who do not swim or choose not to swim.

The camp states that changes for summer camp can be made anytime with no change fees, including changing weeks, locations, or swapping a week for another child. Before May 15th, cancellations receive a full refund minus a non-refundable $25 registration fee, and after May 15th, cancellations receive a full refund minus a 25% cancellation fee and credit card processing fees.

Valley Sports Camp describes its staff as a dedicated team of teachers who have all played on high level sports teams and who have a strong passion for teaching life skills through sports. The leadership team is Mark, Jeff, and Kim Mercer. The program notes that it is in its 18th year of summer camps and references Valley Sports Camp, LLC with copyright years 2009–2023 and 2009–2024.

The camp identifies itself as a youth sports camp serving the greater Bay Area, including Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, San Jose, San Lorenzo Valley, and Scotts Valley. Parent testimonials describe Valley Sports Camp as a place where kids have “loved this camp,” “had a blast,” and “begged” to switch from part-day to full day, and one parent notes that it is “BY FAR one of his favorite camps every year.” Other parents mention repeat attendance over multiple years, kids being eager to get to camp early, and describe the staff and coaches as energetic and great with kids. One testimonial states that the camp provides a well-rounded and engaging sports environment, embeds character education about sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship, and that the coaches are well trained and enjoy being with children.
