Valley Sports Camp runs a character building program that emphasizes different character traits each day, with “Words of the Day” that campers discuss and practice with peers and coaches. Strategic team building activities are included to help campers develop relationships, build a sense of belonging, and create an environment where kids feel safe. The program states that one of its goals is for every camper to leave camp with more confidence and a love of sports, to encourage active, physically fit lives, and to build self-esteem through athletics, with a focus on fun, teamwork, building friendships, and sportsmanship.

The camp describes its multi-sport program as active and high-energy for boys and girls in Pre-K through 8th grade and notes that it is designed for every level of athleticism, with a goal that all kids feel successful at the end of the day. Kids are grouped by age or grade levels, such as PreK/Kinder, 1st/2nd, 3rd, 4th/5th, and 6th–8th, with groupings that may change based on the number of kids registered. The program specializes in youth summer sports camps and after-school enrichment programs for boys and girls entering Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Valley Sports Camp offers before and after camp care in an indoor facility that includes a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities and an afternoon snack, and after camp care includes snack and additional organized games and activities. One to two days during the week, all multi-sport and basketball campers go to Blackberry Farm for sports games and swimming, where there are full-time lifeguards and life jackets available. Pre-K and Kinder children are only allowed in the pool with a life jacket (unless parents opt out) and go into the shallow part of the pool where they can stand, while older children must pass a swim test by Blackberry Farm lifeguards to use the water slide or deep end; swimming is optional and other games are provided for children who do not swim or choose not to swim.

The camp states that changes for summer camp can be made anytime with no change fees. Before May 15th, cancellations receive a full refund minus a non-refundable $25 registration fee, and after May 15th, cancellations receive a full refund minus a 25% cancellation fee and credit card processing fees.

Valley Sports Camp is led by Mark, Jeff, and Kim Mercer and is entering its 18th year of summer camps. The staff is described as a dedicated team of teachers who have all played on high-level sports teams and have a strong passion for teaching life skills through sports. The camp serves families in the greater Bay Area, including Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, San Jose, San Lorenzo Valley, and Scotts Valley.

Parent testimonials describe Valley Sports Camp as a place where kids “loved this camp,” where it was “nearly impossible to find something that they all enjoy and can go to at the same time,” and note that some children “begged” to switch from part-day to full day and were “ready to go early” and eager to get to camp. Parents report that it is “BY FAR one of his favorite camps every year,” that “the staff and coaches are so energetic and great with the kids,” and that campers “get a great work out without even knowing it.” One parent notes that the program includes character education about sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship, and another mentions that repeat campers “always want to sign up again.”
