• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: In-park field studies and recreational opportunities are offered in spring, fall, and winter, with most programs designed to be up to 1.5 hours.
• Price: Program fees are typically $5 per student per program, $10 per student for programs longer than 1.5 hours, and $15 per student for recreation programs like Learn to Canoe, Learn to Mountain Bike, and Cross-Country Ski.

During the busiest season in the spring, school programs are available on weekdays from approximately the middle of May until the end of June, with the same program options typically offered in the fall from the beginning of September until the middle of October. Winter programs are offered as soon as winter arrives in December but are best run in January and February when conditions are most reliable. Select programs are mobile and can be delivered at local camps or on school grounds and classrooms, and all programs must be pre-booked by phone or email on a first-come, first-served basis, with bookings filling quickly in the spring.

Programs can be delivered consecutively or cycled with several smaller groups, and they are best delivered with 20–25 students per class, with larger groups split into smaller groups on concurrent schedules. Learn to Canoe and Learn to Mountain Bike have specific ratios described in their program tiles, and at the Grade 1–4 level it is recommended to have an adult for every 5 students, while for Grade 5 and up it is recommended to have one adult for every 10 students. Supervisors are not billed for participation, and organizers are invoiced based on the number of program attendees, with payment accepted by credit card or cheque.

School programs are led by enthusiastic and knowledgeable Alberta Parks interpreters. Youth groups and other community organizations are welcome to book educational and recreational programs. For field trip preparation, families are asked to check the forecast and ensure that students bring a coat or jacket, hat, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, water, and a lunch, as food options are limited in the park.
