About

Cypress Pony Champions Baseball is a baseball program for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. Players take part in baseball activities on multiple fields and use provided equipment such as gloves, bats, balls, and helmets. The program supplies jerseys, caps, belts, and pants for all players.

• Schedule: Champions play on Saturdays beginning March 2th at 9am on all 5 fields at Oak Knoll Park.
• Price: Our program is free of charge to all participants.

The program’s stated mission is to provide a fun and safe environment for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. The division welcomes all regardless of ability, from high-functioning to the most severe disabilities, and this year the Champions Division has reached over 200 players. All managers and coaches are volunteers who have a special-needs child or adult of their own or who work as teachers, therapists, or other service providers in the special needs field. The organization states that it is the largest special needs baseball organization in the United States and serves families in an area stretching from central Orange County up to South Los Angeles. Los Alamitos Youth Baseball, Rob Fukuzaki, and CARE TO STAY HOME are listed as supporters and sponsors that help keep the Champions Program free to players.
