Arms Wide Open Inclusive Arts Program offers music classes, dance, musical theatre, and other performing arts activities. • Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday from 3pm–7pm and Saturdays from 11am–2pm
Arms Wide Open (AWO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing inclusive arts education and performance opportunities for individuals with special needs. Its mission is to open doors to the transformative power of the arts, empowering individuals with special needs to shine on stage and beyond, and to enrich the lives of children and adults with special needs by fostering caring social environments and creating opportunities for recreation and participation in the performing arts. Arms Wide Open serves more than 300 individuals with disabilities from every cultural and socio-economic background, including people living in group homes, foster homes, and with their families, from throughout San Diego County. Rehearsal schedules are adapted to meet the needs of people who live in far-reaching parts of the county, and since January 2024, AWO has offered weekly classes at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.
