• Schedule: Enrolling now for Winter; 5-week class sessions
• Price: $80 for 5 weeks of classes.
Jibe Studios has been in business for more than 19 years, and Abby and Jennifer opened the studio in the summer of 2006 after already having many years of teaching experience. The leadership team includes Co-Owners Abby Neves and Jennifer Hill, Office Manager Diana Freeman, Project Coordinator Sam Brenner, and Enrollment Coordinator/Instructor Sarah Spillman. Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree and a teaching credential from San Diego State University and taught elementary school for 5 years. Sam earned a B.A. in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and went on to work and train at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Sarah is a certified Barre instructor and holds a 200-hour yoga teacher certification.
The mission at Jibe Studios is to create an environment where dancers and tumblers can increase responsibility, character, and skill through family, friends, and fun, with a focus on process over product and on effort and perseverance. The studio describes itself as family-friendly, with caring instructors who educate the whole child, and it offers multiple performance opportunities without participating in competitions as a non-competitive studio. Families can create an account and register for classes online, and the studio offers dance classes for all ages from toddler to adult. The studio states that it enjoys sharing students’ successes with their families, friends, and the community, and many families describe it as a second home that makes dance fun, with plenty of areas for friends and family to hang out and a dedicated crew room.
Parent testimonials describe Jibe Studios as a quality, family-friendly studio that promotes character building along with dance and tumbling instruction at an age-appropriate level, with reasonably priced classes and easy registration online or in the studio. Parents note that the owners and instructors are highly qualified, teach technique along with new routines each session, and offer plenty of recitals and performances throughout the year. One parent notes that Jibe is not a competitive dance studio but still focuses on proper technique and skills, and several parents say their children love dancing there and that the studio feels welcoming from day one.
