About the provider

The Playground Learning Center first opened in January 2022 under the direction of Shenea White. The center describes itself as a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool and says its mission is to create a supportive space where kids learn important life skills, encourage exploration, creativity, and critical thinking through play, and build emotional resilience and social skills.

Open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, focusing on child-led learning, exploration, and project-based activities. Teachers act as co-learners and collaborators. Enrollment process includes scheduling a tour, completing an offline application form, meeting with the director, submitting immunization records and proof of residency, and receiving an enrollment decision within two weeks.

What families say

“The Playground Learning Center is a fantastic daycare facility and has been a godsend for our family as we juggle work, caregiving for senior family members, etc. Shenea the owner is brilliant and a class act, and the entire team of teachers and staff are kind and beyond dedicated to the care and growth of the children. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!” — Carolyn G

“My son has been attending The Playground since he was 6 months. All the staff is amazing. Silvana is awesome with the kids. They have daily sensory activities for the little ones. I feel my son has reached many of his milestones because of this. In the summer time they have water activities to keep the little ones cool. I feel at peace leaving my son here while going to work.” — Mayra P
