STEAMLabs Kids is a lab-based enrichment program that focuses on subjects including science, technology, engineering, art, and math through a hands-on, lab-based STEAM curriculum for grades K–6. The program is locally owned and operated by parents and is described as a comprehensive enrichment program that emphasizes creating with their hands, collaborating as teammates, and gaining confidence from solving problems on their own.

Keith, a member of the leadership team, is a U.S. Navy veteran and former tech professional with extensive experience in engineering, product management, training, and management. Di, also part of the leadership team, is a Senior Manager at a leading design and make software company, where she partners with top-tier universities' engineering and design programs. Together with their children, they moved to El Dorado Hills from the San Francisco Bay Area five years ago.

The mission of STEAMLabs Kids is to empower every child in the community to build, discover, and grow through hands-on STEAM adventures, creating with their hands, collaborating as teammates, and gaining lasting confidence that comes from solving problems on their own.

Parent feedback includes comments that weekly themes such as “Forces & Motion Mayhem” have included STEAM activities, Legos, building machines, roller coasters, and a final exhibit, and that children have learned about engineering and problem solving while making new friends. Other parents have described their children “having such a blast” and said that STEAMLabs Kids has “made science sooooo fun” for their kids.
