Etna Police Activities League Youth Sports Programs offers activities including swim team, volleyball, soccer, flag football, basketball, wrestling, Explorers, Hunters Safety, mentoring programs Harmony with Horses and Keepin' it REAL, Rec Swim, Skate Night at the Park, and volleyball camp. Rec Swim and Swim Team run from June 8th to July 22nd, with Rec Swim held Monday through Thursday and Swim Team morning practices held Monday through Friday. Wrestling is offered for elementary students on Mondays and Wednesdays and for junior high and high school students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Skate Night at the Park runs from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while Volleyball Camp runs from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and is scheduled for July 7, 2026.

Etna Police Activities League has been providing preventative and early intervention services to youth ages 5–18 for over 24 years and was established in January 2001. Etna PAL is a nonprofit organization with a mission statement focused on fostering better relationships between local law enforcement and the community through programs and activities for youth and by increasing active participation and partnership with young people. Membership for youth ages 5–18 includes participation in all programs and activities for Etna PAL’s fiscal year, and payments by cash or check can be hand delivered at the first practice for programs. Etna PAL is based out of the community of Scott Valley and brings in youth from multiple areas of the county, and it sponsors and promotes local activities such as holiday gatherings, parades, festivals, and other events.
Etna PAL partners closely with the Etna Police Department to implement all programs, with the local police chief supporting its efforts and encouraging officers’ involvement. Community partnerships include the City of Etna, local businesses, Siskiyou County MHSA, Quartz Valley Indian Reservation, Kidder Creek Camp, JH Ranch, Scott Valley Resource Center, CAL PAL, National PAL, CDFW, Youth Corrections, Anav Tribal Health, UC Davis Siskiyou Upward Bound, the Ford Foundation, and schools and homeschooling groups within Scott Valley, Shasta Valley, and South County. Donations to Etna Police Activities can receive a tax write-off, and donors are asked to specify the program or project they want to support in the memo of their checks.
