Hawkins School of Performing Arts offers ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theater, modern, contemporary/lyrical, acting, acrobatics, singing, and voice. Classes for children are listed by age, day of the week and time. Adult classes are available. Classes ending with (W) perform in Winter Works in December; classes with (S) perform in the end-of-year Showcase in June.

About the provider

Hawkins School of Performing Arts was founded by Deirdre Hawkins over 30 years ago in Folsom. The mission is to create a fun, family environment that enables children to experience the benefits of dance, movement and expression, while also inspiring and preparing them to grow as a performing artist.

Registration for 2026-2027 classes remains open until March 12th, 2027 for classes ending with (S). Dancers who did not attend company auditions or ballet placements may schedule a placement class through the office. 2025-2026 ballet placements are free of charge. Ages are as of September 1st, 2025. Children classes are specifically designed for youngest dancers, roughly ages 2-8. Adult classes include Ballet Beg 1/2, Ballet Beg/Int, Ballet Int, Pointe 1, Tap, and Hip Hop.
