Sutter Street Theatre Academy

Sutter Street Theatre Academy offers classes, workshops, and performance opportunities that include acting, improvisation, dance, and music. Every program uses hands-on learning through rehearsing, experimenting, and performing in an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone belongs. Instruction is described as professional and takes place in a welcoming, personalized setting with a focus on confidence and growth over perfection.

• Schedule: Office and box office hours run Monday–Friday from 12:00 PM–5:00 PM in person and by phone, and Saturday–Sunday by phone from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM

Sutter Street Theatre Academy uses an annex building to host ongoing classes and workshops in acting, improvisation, dance, and music, and it also presents family-friendly shows that welcome audiences of all ages in an intimate venue. Students are asked to wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement and closed-toe shoes, and if a particular program requires dance shoes, costumes, or other materials, the program informs students in advance. Sutter Street Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to create live theatre that entertains, inspires, and connects. Its work has received Elly Awards for Excellence in Theatre, local arts honors, and recognition in outlets such as the Sacramento Bee and The Wall Street Journal, and it exists to reflect, celebrate, and connect the community through live performance while keeping live theatre a part of Folsom.
