Mad Dawg Wrestling Club offers freestyle wrestling, folkstyle wrestling, and Greco wrestling, along with conditioning, stretching, running, and weight lifting. Participants also have the opportunity to take part in local wrestling tournaments.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with separate time blocks for beginner/novice and intermediate/advanced wrestlers
Mad Dawg Wrestling Club holds instruction for K–Middle School beginner and novice wrestlers from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for 6th grade through high school intermediate and advanced wrestlers from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on those same days. Expert instruction is provided by collegiate level head coaches and former alumni/prep wrestlers, led by Coach Fidel. Instruction is geared toward all levels, from beginner through veteran wrestlers, with an emphasis on proper wrestling technique and conditioning, including stretching, running, and weight lifting. The club has been a trusted member of the Folsom wrestling community for over 30 years and was established in 1995. For over 20 years, the Mad Dawg Wrestling Club program has prepared young wrestlers for the rigors of prep level competition and is open to all of the Sacramento area wrestling community. The program has trained some of the most successful wrestlers in the region, including more league champions, SJS Masters champions, and California CIF State wrestling qualifiers and placers than any other program, and elite wrestlers from hours away have traveled to train with the club. Training takes place in the Folsom High School Varsity wrestling room, which is home to 8 league championships and 2 Division 1 SJS Section Wrestling championships. The first class is free, and all ages are welcome.
