• Ages: 8–12 years old
• Schedule: Wild Rock is a five-day camp
Wild Rock is specifically designed for students entering 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. As part of the 2025 theme, campers travel to the fictional nation of Mericanda. Within the children’s program, two counselors per cabin or yurt are required.
Forest Home Christian Camps, which runs Wild Rock, has been a movement of God for over 85 years, and since 1938 millions have come to Forest Home and had their lives epically marked by God. Forest Home’s chapel contains thousands of pages of written history from campers documenting their life changing decisions, prayers, and cries to God. Forest Home states that it exists for people to Encounter Jesus, Experience Transformation, and Engage the World, and that Forest Home Ministries will partner with the Church to create a revolutionary Christ-centered experience.
The leadership team includes Board of Directors members Paul Preston, Bruce Beals, Howard Booker, Callie Carson, Joe Colace, Tim Crow, Richard “Monty” Curtis, Ted Haberfield, Chris Pavlovic, Jane Sciarro, and Sue Wirick, and the founder Henrietta Mears. One camper, Joey, shared that “Being at Forest Home is probably the most closest I've gotten to God and the Holy Spirit...”. Staci from Real Life LA described Forest Home as a place where their church attends summer and winter camps every year, with teaching that is theologically sound, worship that is engaging, recreation that is top notch, and staff that is exceptional, and said that Forest Home is a “faith growth catapult” for their ministry. Jaime from IBC said that Forest Home has an awesome program for kids and that the Children’s Program Staff have a heart to serve and show the love of Jesus to kids.
