Fresno Fencing Club offers Summer Camps, Swordplay Camps, Competitive Camps, and Private Fencing Lessons. Summer Camps provide intensive instruction with lots of one-on-one attention, Swordplay Camps give new fencers safety equipment, weapons, and gear, and Competitive Camps are weeklong sessions for beginning and intermediate fencers focused on tactics and strategies. Private fencing lessons are one-on-one with a coach and last 20 minutes.

- Summer Camps — Fresno Fencing Club offers a number of exciting camp opportunities over the summer. These camps are designed to be intensive instruction, with lots of one on one attention.
- Swordplay Camps — Designed for new fencers to learn what they need to start off on the right foot in fencing. Safety equipment, weapons, and gear are provided.
- Competitive Camps — Designed for beginning and intermediate level fencers who are already on or aiming for competition strips. Intensive, weeklong sessions intended to hone skills and focus on tactics and strategies.
- Private Fencing Lessons — One-on-one instruction with a Fresno Fencing Club coach. Each lesson is 20 minutes long and can be bought in bundles of 5 or 10 for a discount.
About the provider
The coaching staff is headed by Vladimir Ostatnigrosh. He is a former Soviet and Ukrainian champion fencer, earned a master’s degree in physical education and coaching from Lviv State Institute of Physical Education and Sport, and was ranked as one of Ukraine’s ten best coaches before coming to the United States to coach fencing at Stanford University. The club’s mission is to promote the sport of fencing in the Central Valley by providing world-class training to local athletes. Vladimir Ostatnigrosh also teaches fencing at Fresno State, and fencers trained by him compete in international events, the NCAA, and national and regional levels.
Classes are available for all age groups and skill levels in foil and epee. Individual lessons are available by appointment. Fencing etiquette and safety are stressed for beginners. Students begin with an introductory course before moving to scheduled classes.
