• Ages: 6–17 years old

The coaching staff is headed by Vladimir Ostatnigrosh, a former Soviet and Ukrainian champion fencer. Vladimir earned a master’s degree in physical education and coaching from Lviv State Institute of Physical Education and Sport in Ukraine and was ranked as one of Ukraine’s ten best coaches before coaching fencing at Stanford University. He also teaches fencing at Fresno State. The mission of Fresno Fencing Club is to promote the sport of fencing in the Central Valley by providing world-class training to local athletes. Classes are offered for all age groups and skill levels in foil and epee, including introductory, beginner, intermediate, and competitive classes, and individual lessons are available by appointment and can be scheduled throughout the day. The facility includes electronically scored fencing strips, a fitness room, changing rooms, and is fully stocked with all necessary safety equipment. Fencers trained by Vladimir are competing in international events, NCAA, national, and regional levels, and modern fencing at the club reflects the broader sport, which spans Olympic Games, World Championship competitions, NCAA and national tournaments, regional adult and youth events, and veterans categories for men and women over forty.
