Young Chefs Academy was established in 2003, and Founder and CEO Julie Burleson created the program that year. The curriculum is developed and tested by the Young Chefs Academy (YCA) team of expert chefs. The stated mission is to make a positive lasting impact on children and families through teaching the joy and value of cooking in a welcoming environment that encourages discovery and creativity. Young Chefs Academy has been the leader in teaching kids the joy and value of culinary arts for twenty years and is trusted by thousands of families to teach children positive and healthy activities.

Seasonal and summer cooking camps at Young Chefs Academy deliver an immersive culinary adventure with all new recipes, techniques, and subject matter every week. Activities cover the art of cooking and the science of baking, along with basic and new culinary techniques, tips, and tricks. Lessons are created to encourage creative expression and discoveries, and there is something for all skill levels from beginner to experienced chef. Young chefs are introduced to some of the latest trends in the culinary world in a “real” setting so that students can take what they learn at Young Chefs Academy to their own homes.

Over the years, Young Chefs Academy and its franchisees have been showcased across some of the largest networks promoting healthy activities for kids and families, which is presented as a testament to its values and community activities.
