Orange County Judo Training Center offers judo classes, including a Kid’s Judo Program, a Teen’s and Adult’s Judo Program, and a Private / Personalized Judo Program with one on one instruction and group classes. Students take part in cross training in the sport and martial art of judo, with options in both gi and no-gi formats, including an ongoing No-Gi Combat Judo class and a Self Defense class. In the No-Gi Combat Judo and Self Defense class, students work on basic body movement, balance and footwork, striking, kicking, and evasion techniques, along with judo throws and takedowns, joint locks, choke holds, and contact drills using striking pads.

Orange County Judo Training Center is led by Head Instructor Juan Montenegro, a world class athlete with lifelong experience in judo as a competitor and instructor and decades of high-level teaching experience. The program states that training under this progressive Head Instructor includes fitness and conditioning, self-defense, and competitive skills in a group environment that emphasizes honor, discipline, respect, and self-confidence. The Private / Personalized Judo Program is available to all ages, and the center offers individualized instruction for interested members. Orange County Judo Training Center is the largest judo club in Orange County, offers more classes than any other judo program in the area, and is the only martial arts facility there to offer judo classes seven days a week for adults.

Orange County Judo Training Center is dedicated to providing the highest level of quality judo training and states that its training instills discipline and confidence, teaches self-defense, and promotes fitness for all skill levels. The program combines modern training principles and traditional values with an emphasis on student safety, and its vision reflects the judo principles of “mutual welfare and benefit” and “maximum efficiency,” summarized in the phrase “Modern Training, Traditional Values.” OCJTC is home to men, women, and children of all ages who practice the time-honored martial art of judo.

Orange County Judo Training Center is a registered judo club with USA Judo, the national governing body for judo in the United States, and is recognized by many top judo coaches and athletes throughout the country as a leading-edge judo program. The sport of judo has an active local competition schedule in Southern California, giving competitive students many chances to enter events in the region, including officially sanctioned State and Regional Championships and the National Championships, which are held annually. The top judo athletes in the United States go on from this competition structure to represent the country in international tournaments such as the Pan-American Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games.
