About

The A.C. Green Youth Foundation Leadership Program includes educational opportunities, career exploration, character building, field trips, and basketball. Participants spend time learning basketball skills, practicing drills, and improving techniques. Guest speakers address goal setting and hard work, and participants interact with A.C. Green and other role models.

• Ages: 9–16 years old
• Schedule: Day program held July 6–10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

NBA Iron Man A.C. Green personally supervises each program and serves as president and founder of the A.C. Green Youth Foundation. The A.C. Green Youth Foundation was launched in 1989 and celebrated 25 years in 2014. The Leadership Program is all-expenses-paid, and programs are held in Oregon, California, and Arizona. Every year approximately 300 boys and girls ages 9–16 are sponsored to attend the summer Leadership Program. The goal of the Leadership Program is to identify and encourage leaders among children who might otherwise be forgotten, with objectives that include exposing children to a camp environment, encouraging cooperation, sportsmanship and teamwork, exposing youth to leadership figures and positive role models, offering a learning experience through career exploration field trips, teaching athletic skills and character development while providing fun experiences, acquainting youth with unique career opportunities, and discouraging behavior which may continue the cycle of abuse, poverty, or homelessness.

The mission of the A.C. Green Youth Foundation is to serve both youth and the communities in which they live by providing information about sexual abstinence and social issues that concern young people and educating them to make responsible choices to prepare them for their future. A.C. Green was recognized in the House of Representatives’ Congressional Record of October 26, 1999, as a role model for youth across America. The foundation partners with American Cardiovascular Group to protect student athletes, and A.C. Green supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Campers have shared written feedback stating that the topics covered changed their outlook on life, influenced their perspective on sex and peer pressure, and inspired them to work toward their goals.
