Citrus College Men's Basketball Youth Camp

Citrus College Men's Basketball Youth Summer Camp focuses on basketball skills such as ball handling, passing, dribbling, footwork, defense, shooting, and rebounding. Campers also take part in shooting contests, free throw contests, team games, and one-on-one championships, along with swimming as an optional activity supervised by certified lifeguards. The camp includes activities that address self-esteem, team play, positive communication, and work ethic.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., with three sessions (Session 1: June 2–6; Session 2: June 9–13; Session 3: June 16–20) and optional early drop off at 8 a.m. and late pick up until 3 p.m.
• Price: The Citrus College Youth Basketball Summer Camp costs $195 per session.

The camp is described as the Citrus College Basketball Camp “A Summer Tradition.” The program states that it provides a sound foundation for beginners and a very strong challenge to advanced players, with a teaching emphasis that is bigger than basketball and includes self-esteem, defense, dribbling, rebounding, team play, positive communication, and work ethic. An energetic and experienced staff gives detailed attention to individuals, and guest speakers are a focal point of the camp. The coaches and camp counselors have been selected because they know and love basketball and have a proven ability to effectively teach the game. Head coach Brett Lauer recently finished his eighth season at Citrus College with a 197–51 record, during which the Fighting Owls have won seven conference championships and made CCCAA Elite Eight appearances, including a Final Four finish in the most recent season. Families are asked to send campers with basketball shoes, bottled water and lunch, a towel and swimsuit for the optional swimming, and a positive attitude.
