Alex Foley’s Academy of Martial Arts offers martial arts training that includes Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, kata, weapons, continuous sparring, and kids self-defense. The program also offers Kids Jiu-Jitsu, Junior Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Little Ninjas/KinderKarate, Junior Karate, Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Adult Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Adult Kickboxing (co-ed), Bag Blast, Family classes, private lessons, and an after school program. In addition to regular classes, the academy runs weapons seminars, sparring seminars, self-defense seminars, a women’s self-defence seminar, birthday parties, and treats classes as an after school activity.

The Foley family has been teaching martial arts for over 40 years. The leadership team includes instructors Alex Foley, Jim Flood, Zachery Connolly, Don Sinnott, Ivan Burt, Faith Patey, Alexander Birmingham, Ryan Bennett, Katelyn Farrell, and Leah Flood, along with Junior Leaders who serve as assistant instructors. Programs vary by location, registration is always ongoing, and new students can try their first class free. The academy takes part in local tournaments and also travels to National and World tournaments every year, and students can either explore their competitive side or train recreationally at their own pace.
According to the academy’s mission statement, the instructors aim to bring students high-level martial arts instruction in a clean, safe, supportive, family-friendly environment, with a focus on cleanliness, professionalism, and character development. The mission statement also notes that training is presented as being about more than kicking and punching, with an emphasis on students becoming more confident and capable people.
