• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: One-week Select Training, one-week Premier Training, one-week High School Academy Program, and a two-week Soccer Plus option

Two Rivers Soccer Camp was founded in 1971 and has operated for over 50 years, serving 45,000 campers since 1971. It is a co-ed youth soccer camp that offers 3.5–5 hours of daily soccer training and specialized programs such as Center Forward and Goalkeeper Training, a High School Academy option, and a two-week program that includes private, off-campus excursions. The camp has private cabins with bathrooms and showers, a swimming pond, a sport court, and a turf field, and the Jamison and Feather rivers border the property. Campers are paired with a personal soccer coach and a dedicated cabin leader, and the camp maintains a 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio, which is described as one of the lowest among premier camps. A medical professional is on campus at all times, with 24/7 medical support on call, and the staff includes an international coaching team with professional backgrounds representing over 14 countries.

The leadership team includes the founding family of Dick and Pat Schwendinger and Lynda Boyden, along with Senior Soccer Director Dave Haley, Youth Soccer Director Thiago Pereira, Program Director Ben Kane, and Activities Director Travis Johnson. Staff credentials include UEFA and USSF licensed coaches, such as Dave Haley, who holds a UEFA “A” Advanced Coaching Licence, an FA Advanced Youth Award, a BA (Hon) in Sports Management, over 20 years of coaching in professional academies, past coaching roles at Huddersfield Town, Bradford City, and Leeds United, experience coaching 6 youth international players for England, Wales, and Ireland, and 27 years as Two Rivers Soccer Director. Other staff include Thiago Pereira, who has over 20 years as a professional footballer in Brazil and Portugal’s 1st and 2nd divisions, a UEFA B Coaching Licence, and serves as a U14 Team Head Coach and Workplace Exercise Instructor; Ben Kane, who holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Master’s Degree in Leadership Development, and teaches 8th grade history in Sacramento while completing a Single Subject Credential in Natural Sciences; Travis Johnson, an elementary physical education teacher in Austin with a BA in Education; Carlos Fonseca, who holds a UEFA Pro License; and Dave McCarthy, an “A” license coach and current Director of Coaching and Player Development at Bayside Dynamo Soccer Club in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

The camp’s stated mission is to provide a well balanced, sleep away camp experience that combines a traditional camp atmosphere with high-level soccer coaching, with a focus on creating healthy and challenging experiences on and off the field while fostering social growth, confidence, and athletic development in every camper. Its philosophy states that children grow when they are appropriately challenged physically, mentally, and socially in a positive, well supervised environment grounded in discipline and respect, and that structure and high standards create the conditions for lasting growth. Upon arrival, families park in the parking lot at the end of Two Rivers Road, and only camp vehicles are permitted across the bridge; after walking across the bridge to the Camp Office for check-in, a staff member collects luggage and brings it to the Rec Room, where campers retrieve it after check-in and are helped to their cabin.

Parent and coach testimonials describe Two Rivers Soccer Camp as the same world-class soccer camp remembered by a former camper who now sends both daughters, as “no better soccer camp on the planet” with world-class coaching and highly regarded counselors, as the best camp some campers have attended, and as a place where parents felt they were leaving their child in the hands of friends who would take great care of her. Another parent reports that the staff is professional, vibrant, and caring, and that their son came home enriched and a better soccer player.
