Music in the Mountains offers MIMYO Suzuki Strings for students in the beginning of Suzuki string study. The program also offers Music for Young Minds for grades K-3. MIMYO Suzuki Strings is a two year-long course, with the first year running from September 14, 2026 through May 3, 2027, and it has a flat price of $600.

About the provider
Music in the Mountains has been creating musical experiences since 1982. It provides music education in nearly every Nevada County public school. The program’s musicians are internationally acclaimed, and its professional orchestra and guest artists perform in major cultural centers.
For students in 3rd grade or younger, daily home practice and parent oversight are a mandatory requirement. Parents are expected to play a 25 minute recording of the first Suzuki book every day and are highly encouraged to observe each class and take videos and notes for home practice.
