Hume SoCal Summer Camp is part of Hume Christian Camps, a multi-site youth camp and adult retreat center whose mission is to provide epic, high-energy, life-changing camp experiences and to create distraction-free environments where campers encounter Jesus Christ and experience the Gospel At Play. The program states that the gospel is not merely one ingredient in its programming mix but is the reason for everything it does, and it uses a creative theme to help create an atmosphere for students to engage with Biblical truths in a creative and memorable way. It features high-energy, innovative Rec games, dynamic worship in indoor and outdoor settings from sunrise to sunset, and an early bird discount of $30 per camper for churches that register by March 1. Scholarships called Camperships are available for campers who need them.

The camp includes a waterfront area called The Cove with a large inflatable Blob, rope swing, water zipline that sends campers into the water, and a Shorefront area with a water slide. Recreation and leisure options also include a 9-hole disc golf course, a beginner-friendly Nature Loop hiking trail and a longer Destination Trail coming soon, a hatchet throwing area with targets 30 feet away, an archery range, a large grass recreation field with a softball field with backstop, soccer goals, and a sand volleyball court. The Snack Shop & Rec Room features Hume Milkshakes, pool, and ping pong, and The Porch coffee shop serves as a hangout space for board games and conversations. Traditional camper dorms have real innerspring bunks, with 6 dorms each containing two spacious wings furnished with 14 bunks divided into groups sleeping 2–4 campers and equipped with personal storage areas.

Hume Christian Camps lists its leadership as Chief Executive Officer Dr. John Boal. Board members are Craig Hill (Chairman), Ron Yee (Vice Chairman), Greg Mercier (Secretary), Dave Erickson (Treasurer), Tom Cornford, Greg Smith, Josh Frantz, Ryan Jackson, Benton McKnight, Rick Parkinson, Scott Rurik, Terry Scranton, Peter Erickson, and John Foster. Advisory Board Members include Bob Stevens, and Board Members Emeritus include John Yakligian and Mike Maples. The organization states that it partners with churches, schools, teams, and groups to create distraction-free environments where participants encounter Jesus Christ and experience the Gospel At Play. Activities are subject to weather conditions and availability, and certain activities are subject to age and weight restrictions, and softball equipment is currently unavailable while soccer and sand volleyball equipment are included.
