Greenfield Cultural Arts

Greenfield Cultural Arts offers drawing and painting classes for youth, along with art camps and art exhibitions. The program also includes dance classes in line dancing, Folklorico, Flamenco, Salsa, Azteca, and traditional Oaxacan dance, as well as drumming classes. Participants can also take part in sewing projects that create dance costumes and in community festivals.

First Night Monterey established Greenfield Cultural Arts in 2014 through its outreach program ArtWorks! with assistance from the Arts Council for Monterey County. The program describes its mission as “An Inclusive Arts Program for Participation in the Visual and Performing Arts” and offers inclusive arts programs in various community locations. Local groups have presented traditional Oaxacan dance and drumming classes and sewing projects creating dance costumes as part of the program.
