The Way Out Ministries Youth Programs

The Way Out Ministries Youth Programs include after-school Bible clubs, summer camps, and other structured activities for children and youth. The programs also connect families with services such as food and clothing, housing, and counseling. Youth involved with the ministry may also take part in community events like the Jesus Loves Hawaiian Gardens community service fair, which offers medical screenings, hair cuts, food, clothes, and school supplies.

The Way Out Ministries Youth Programs operate in a facility that has over 14,000 square feet. The ministry was incorporated as a ministry on May 7, 1984, and has continued for almost four decades of ministry. Its mission statement is: “We provide activities for children and youth in after-school Bible clubs, summer camps, and other meaningful programs.”

The leadership team includes Barry Bruce, Terryl Horton, youth pastor Ken Derek, and church member Rich Guthrie. The programs are part of an inner-city youth outreach and are connected with an international ministry in the Philippines called The Way Out Ministries, Philippines. The organization also runs Jesus Loves The Cities volunteer events and has held a 42nd annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner.
