About
The Way Out Ministries Youth Programs include after-school Bible clubs, summer camps, and a week-long vacation Bible School program during spring break called “Resurrection Celebration.” The program also connects youth and their families with the Jesus Loves Hawaiian Gardens community service fair, which offers medical screenings, hair cuts, food, clothes, and school supplies. Through its resource center, the ministry offers social services such as job placement, food and clothing, housing, counceling, and more for families, individuals, and those experiencing homelessness.

The Way Out Ministries Youth Programs state that they provide activities for children and youth in after-school Bible clubs, summer camps, and other meaningful programs. The ministry was incorporated as a ministry on May 7, 1984, and has continued after almost four decades of ministry. It grew from running out of the Bruce’s home to a current facility that has over 14,000 square feet and is working on plans to build a facility in the Philippines, with The Way Out Ministries, Philippines described as an exciting new reality. The ministry reports adapting to the needs around while never compromising the Gospel message and has branched out beyond inner-city ministry into international ministry.
The leadership team includes Barry Bruce, Terryl Horton, youth pastor Ken Derek, and Rich Guthrie. As part of its community involvement, the ministry held its 42nd annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner where three staff and thirty volunteers hosted and fed over 200 people.
