DSAL Summer Camp is open to ages 8–17 and includes Free Sports & Fitness Camps. All programs have rolling registration, so participants can join at any time if there is room, even after a session is underway. DSAL provides free Health and Fitness programming to Alameda County residents of all ages.

The camp’s Golf Camp for kids 10–16 was presented in partnership with Corica Park. For the Golf Camp, transportation was provided to and from the course, and breakfast and lunch were provided. The Golf Camp featured a low coach-to-camper ratio with PGA certified and collegiate level golf instructors, with a focus on youth development.

DSAL was founded in 2005. The leadership team includes Patrick Eiser (Executive Director), Lisa Perry (Grants/Contracts/Operations Manager), Kae Love (Accounting Manager), and Matt Bogdanowicz (Athletic Director). DSAL’s mission is to build connected, empowered communities in the unincorporated areas of Alameda County by supporting youth and families, promoting health, education, and public safety through collaboration between the community and the Sheriff's office, and through tailored programs and local partnerships that create pathways for lifelong growth and success.

Testimonials from DSAL coaches and community members include: “There's a lot of talk. I want to be known for action - for doing something and making a difference.” (Coach Manny, DSAL); “I grew up in this program, and it changed my life forever. This program saved me.” (Coach Bahati, DSAL); and “DSAL and the ACSO have given so many young people an opportunity to be seen and heard that it has literally changed lives. I think that's how we should go about doing it versus, you know, pounding enforcement down their throats. Give them some opportunities and resources, we can really make a difference.” (Bobby Arte).
