Hollister Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Hollister Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers Little Cubs BJJ for ages 3-4, Cubs BJJ for ages 5-8, and Big Cubs BJJ for ages 9-13. The program also offers Youth Wrestling for ages 4-12 and Adults BJJ for ages 13+.

Programs

• Little Cubs BJJ — Ages 3-4 · Little Cubs Gi class; playful and engaging environment; fundamental movements and techniques; imaginative games and drills; balance, coordination, and basic self-defense skills.
• Cubs BJJ — Ages 5-8 · Cubs BJJ Gi class; structured and challenging introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; basic submissions, escapes, positional control; teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Big Cubs BJJ — Ages 9-13
• Youth Wrestling — Ages 4-12 · Dynamic and engaging opportunity for young athletes; safe and supportive environment; fundamental wrestling techniques, body control, agility; discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Adults BJJ — Ages 13+ · Adults program.

About the provider

Hollister BJJ opened in 2019 and expanded to a bigger building in August 2020, when it added wrestling programs. Head Coach Jose Leon is the owner and head coach. He began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2010 and received his black belt in 2017 under Professor Claudio França. His notable wins include IBJJF Master’s Worlds and IBJJF Pans, and he was an IBJJF No Gi World’s bronze medalist. The school says students uplift each other and describes a supportive and inclusive environment.

Free trial class is offered. The school says its instructors prioritize safety and ensure techniques are learned and practiced in a safe and controlled manner. It says classes are for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
