About

Summer Day Camp includes themed weeks with hands-on crafts, interactive games, and workshops or clubs. Campers take part in special crafts, hear from guest speakers, and go swimming at San Benito Aquatics on Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with camper pick-up there from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Schedule: Annual registration runs February 1–April 30, with daily drop-off from 7:30–9:00 a.m. and carpool pick-up starting at 4:30 p.m., and campers picked up by 6:00 p.m.
• Price: A $25 non-refundable deposit is required per week per child to guarantee a reservation, and a late fee of $1 per minute per child is charged for pick-up after 6:00 p.m.

The program follows a mission to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. It has a zero-tolerance rule for physical harm, and rough housing is not tolerated; campers who physically harm another camper are automatically sent home and can be removed from the program for the rest of the summer. Parents or other adults besides YMCA or school employees are not allowed on campus. Every Friday is Spirit Day, when campers wear a YMCA Camp shirt. Financial assistance is available, including scholarships of up to 50% for qualifying families, children, and adults for membership and program fees, and members have access to early registration and a special member rate, along with nationwide access to a network of Ys across the country, including Puerto Rico.

Each day, campers are expected to bring two healthy snacks, a non-microwavable lunch, water, sunscreen already applied plus labeled personal sunscreen for reapplication, a backpack, closed-toed shoes, a sweatshirt or jacket, a change of clothes if needed, and a sun hat, with all belongings labeled with first and last name. Children may get messy and are not expected to wear their best clothes. Items that stay home include money (unless stated in advance), games or toys, cell phones, electronic devices or games, and gum and candy. Campers must be signed out by a parent or designated adult over 18, and parents must be ready to show ID to staff at pick-up each day.
