FIELDGUIDES Outdoor Education Programs includes camping and backpacking experiences that range from camping overnights to week-long backpacking trips. The program offers activities such as coastal science, redwood ecology, and gold rush history, with an emphasis on wilderness immersion in a family-style camping format where children and chaperones sleep in tents and cook and eat together outdoors. Activities and chores are done by students, chaperones, and staff together in an atmosphere of cooperation and respect, with an average fieldguide to student ratio of 1:10.

Founded in 1983, FIELDGUIDES Outdoor Education Programs is a small, non-profit outdoor education organization and a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. It focuses on providing personalized camping and backpacking programs for schools and youth groups, with a variety of customizable trips operating from Southern Oregon to Northern and Central California. FIELDGUIDES is dedicated to bringing youth outdoors to promote a stronger sense of self, community, and connection to the natural world, and offers discounts and scholarships to students in need. FIELDGUIDES is partnering with the Marine Ecology Program at Fort Ross Conservancy to provide an outdoor education opportunity.
