FIELDGUIDES Outdoor Education offers camping and backpacking programs that include activities such as coastal science, redwood ecology, and gold rush history. The program runs trips that range from camping overnights to week-long backpacking trips, with an average fieldguide to student ratio of 1:10. Children and chaperones sleep in tents and cook and eat together in a family-style camping format, with activities and chores done by students, chaperones, and staff together in an atmosphere of cooperation and respect.

FIELDGUIDES Outdoor Education is a small, non-profit outdoor education organization founded in 1983 and registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. It focuses on providing personalized camping and backpacking programs for schools and youth groups, with a variety of customizable trips for grades 3–8 and programs operating from Southern Oregon to Northern and Central California. FIELDGUIDES is partnering with the Marine Ecology Program at Fort Ross Conservancy to provide an outdoor education opportunity. The organization offers discounts and scholarships to students in need and is dedicated to bringing youth outdoors to promote a stronger sense of self, community, and connection to the natural world.
