About
Camps and After School includes time for homework, physical activities, art projects, special events, sports, creative arts and crafts, and group games. Summer camp days include structured activities, and each day starts with high-energy activities led by staff. All activities in the program are supervised by dedicated staff.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
The program is part of Desert Recreation District, whose mission is to enhance residents’ quality of life by creating, maintaining, and preserving community focused recreation facilities and programs. Desert Recreation District partners with Desert Sands Unified School District to offer the Expanded Learning ASES & ELOP program at select campuses, which includes education and homework assistance, physical activity play, and a snack. Desert Recreation District also collaborates with public, private, and nonprofit organizations to create opportunities for leisure, fitness, and community engagement. Desert Recreation District is the largest park and recreation district in California, covering 1,887 square miles and serving over 432,000 residents across the greater Coachella Valley. The Kids Club After School Program is a drop-in recreation program with supervision and is open to children who live in the Las Casas, Desert Meadows, Villa Hermosa, Vista Dunes, River Canyon, and Paseo De Los Heroes apartment complexes.
