Camp Whitsett is a Scout Camp that serves nearly 2,500 scouts every summer. It houses a nationally accredited high adventure base.
Camp Whitsett was founded in 1947. It is owned and proudly operated by the Scouting America Western Los Angeles County Council. It operates in partnership and under a Special Use Permit with the United States Forest Service, Sequoia National Forest in the Giant Sequoia National Monument. The program states that the rules of acceptance and participation are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap. Camp Whitsett houses a nationally accredited high adventure base.
