Mountain Arts Network Art Classes

Mountain Arts Network Art Classes offers low cost art classes taught by accomplished artists, including oil painting classes and a wood turning class. The program also offers free art classes for special needs adults, as well as a class where participants learn to turn a pen on a wood lathe. Oil painting classes take place at Raven Art Studio, where phones are not allowed in the studio.

• Schedule: Oil painting classes meet Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and both the oil painting and wood turning pen classes run in three-hour sessions.
• Price: Oil painting classes cost $35.00 per three-hour session; the wood turning class cost is set by the instructor.

Oil painting classes are taught by instructor Rick Rotante, and the wood turning class is taught by instructor Darrell Harris. For oil painting classes, participants bring their own supplies and paint. For the wood turning class, all materials are included, and the three-hour wood turning pen class has all materials supplied, with one-on-one wood turning instruction available by appointment. Mountain Arts Network is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to foster an appreciation for visual arts. The organization also offers gallery events and exhibitions, an online eCommerce gallery shop, and college scholarships for graduating high school students, and members receive a 10% discount for all gallery purchases and classes. Mountain Arts Network creates opportunities for artists and students, provides a meeting place for art groups and organizations to network and share ideas, and offers options to volunteer or donate at events in support of this mission.
