Baseball Resource Group (BRG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose mission is to empower baseball student-athletes by providing top-tier training, mentorship, and development opportunities. BRG was established by a team of leaders including Mishael “Coach Izzy” Israel, Reggie Smith, Tarrik Brock, and Gary Patchett, with Mishael “Coach Izzy” Israel serving as Founder and Executive Director. The leadership team brings over 150 years of combined professional baseball experience, and featured pro instructors include Chris Gwynn, Gary Patchett, Tarrik Brock, and Steve Keifer.
The Rec Ball program (ages 8–13) is for young athletes new to the game and focuses on building fundamental skills in a fun and supportive environment. The Coaches program equips mentors with tools, knowledge, and support to guide athletes. The High School program emphasizes advanced training and exposure to college recruiters, and the Collegiate program supports athletes in their pursuit of collegiate baseball careers with guidance, development opportunities, and recruitment assistance.
BRG operates primarily in California with Lake Elsinore as its central hub and has strong connections with local communities, schools, and families. The organization is dedicated to the training, development, and mentorship of baseball student-athletes from diverse communities, helping them pursue professional baseball careers through collegiate paths. Its guiding principles are Excellence, Teamwork, Inclusivity, and Community, and its programs are crafted to help young athletes develop key skills, gain confidence, and reach new levels of achievement both on the field and in life. Expert-led sessions provide a foundation and advanced techniques to support every stage of a player’s baseball journey, and BRG works to ensure that all athletes, regardless of background, have equal opportunities to succeed by breaking down financial and logistical barriers.
