New Wave Volleyball Club was founded in 2003 by Sam and Sue Sybunroeung. The club is based out of Long Beach, CA and competes at tournaments through the Southern California Volleyball Association, with teams ranging from 12 and under to 18 years of age. New Wave offers indoor volleyball training year round with experienced coaches, and the training also includes beach volleyball during the summer. The mission of New Wave Volleyball Club is to provide a competent and supportive coaching staff who will teach volleyball skills and techniques with a strong emphasis on morals and values that are essential to success in athletic competition and life. The club describes itself as family owned and operated, serving Long Beach, CA and surrounding cities, and states that it prides itself on being a family owned volleyball club with a positive, engaging, and encouraging coaching environment, with a goal to welcome players into its family and support their love for the game.

The coaching staff offers private and semi-private sessions upon request, and all coaches are described as having a lifelong passion for the game and being dedicated to teach and develop each player who has interest in learning or improving. The primary goal stated by New Wave Volleyball Club is to prepare athletes to compete at the club, high school, and collegiate level while making sure the love for the game is not lost. New Wave Volleyball Club is always looking for girls and boys ages 8–18 who are motivated to learn, practice, and fine tune their fundamental skills of volleyball, and its goal for spring and summer training is to develop new players as well as reinforce and enhance the skills of returning players.
