Devon Rossler Tutoring offers tutoring, SAT/ACT prep, and college admissions support. The program supports students in grades K–12 and focuses on academic, social, and emotional growth in a warm and supportive environment.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Owner and founder Devon Rossler has 20 years of continuous advancement and expertise in education, has taught elementary school in the Orinda Union and Walnut Creek Unified School Districts, has facilitated and trained teachers in all subject areas, and has developed math, reading, writing, and grammar curriculum that is still used in classrooms. Director of Operations Katie Sahm has worked as a Bay Area educator for 15 years, taught fourth and fifth grades in the Orinda Unified School District, founded and managed a local summer camp, mentored beginning teachers, tutored students, holds a Masters in Education and an administrative credential, and was a Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year finalist for 2020. Office Manager duties are handled by Maya Hoffstadt.
The tutoring team includes educators and specialists with a range of backgrounds. Services cover elementary and middle school English language arts, math, and science courses, as well as high school English language arts, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Probability and Statistics, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and History. The program also offers math tutoring for grades K–8, tutoring for grades PreK–3, 2–5, K–8, PreK–4, upper elementary and middle school math, and Environmental Sciences, Spanish 1, and Spanish 2 tutoring. Support is available for SAT/ACT prep and college admissions.
Staff experience includes over 35 years of teaching in Walnut Creek from Reading Specialist Paula Rathert, 26 years of elementary teaching and advanced degrees in educational leadership from Terry Pollack, and over 15 years in the classroom from Marci Winer, who currently teaches 5th–7th grade math and has also taught 4th grade math and 5th and 6th grade science. Tom Sheridan teaches K–12 Special Education and coaches women’s tennis at Battle High School in Columbia, Missouri, and provides virtual tutoring for students in grades 3–8. Tina Zwahlen has a teaching degree from Brigham Young University and works as a Literacy Specialist in the Moraga School District. Clare Letendre has a degree in Mathematics from Saint Mary’s College of California, is pursuing a Master’s degree and single-subject mathematics teaching credential, has served as a STEM tutor, peer mentor, and calculus teaching assistant, and participated in the Memphis Teaching Residency Fellowship. Harshitha (Harshi) Dasari is a second-year law student at UC Berkeley School of Law with undergraduate degrees in Data Science and Political Science from the University of Southern California and has over eight years of competitive debate experience, including serving as Vice President of the Berkeley Debate Society.
