5C Experience - Creative Cool Community College Camp includes project-based classes, project-based learning opportunities, and engaging activities. The program also features mentorship and connections with college mentors, as well as campus tours.
• Ages: 11–13 years old
• Schedule: Two week program, June 15–June 25, 2026 (Monday–Thursday)
• Price: Cost: $350 (Scholarships available!); The cost to attend the 5C Experience is $350. Scholarships are available. Full and/or partial scholarships are available.
The 5C Experience - Creative Cool Community College Camp is designed specifically for incoming 6th to 8th graders and uses innovative project-based classes, mentorship, and engaging activities to help them explore the world of college. The theme for the summer is “Belong. Believe. Become.” The program offers an opportunity to connect with college mentors who can offer guidance and insight into college life and beyond.
The 5C Experience is connected with several community partners that provide scholarships: Lemoore Union Elementary School District (30 scholarships, participants selected by the school district), Hanford Union Elementary School District (80 scholarships, participants selected by the school district), Reef-Sunset Unified School District (35 scholarships, participants selected by the school district), and Santa Rosa Rancheria (30 scholarships, participants selected by Santa Rosa Rancheria). There are 20 spots open for the general public and students of West Hills Community College District (WHCCD) employees. Donations are accepted to support the 5C Experience Program, and there is an opportunity to apply to become a 5C mentor and work with 6th to 8th graders. The Outreach & Recruitment team actively participates in community outreach events.
West Hills Community College District has been honored with Exemplary Program Awards, and community votes recognized Coalinga College and Lemoore College in the 2026 Best of Central California Awards. The mission statement for the 5C Experience invites students to “Unleash Creativity and Exploration This Summer!” and describes the camp as an “unforgettable journey of learning, creativity, and fun.” Dawne Troth is listed as the contact for questions or more information.
