About

Artuity Creative Studio Art Classes offers drawing and painting classes for children and teens in grades K–12 with Miss Antoinette, as well as an adult drawing and painting class with Miss Antoinette. The program also includes K–12 and adult drawing and painting classes with artist Kris Sosa, Digital Art/Anime with Emma Pike, and a Clay Modeling Class with Miss Amanda Bruckner. Students work in traditional drawing and painting media such as graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, and soft pastel, using subjects like animals, landscapes, seascapes, objects, pets, people, and abstraction, and they work from reference and add creative touches. Drinks and snacks are allowed during classes.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

Artuity Creative Studio Art Classes also offers badge-earning workshops, commissions, pet portraits, murals, birthday parties, and restoration/touch-up services, with restoration handled case by case and usually at very reasonable cost, and items always evaluated free of charge. The studio offers a free trial class, welcomes beginners, and includes beginning to advanced instruction in traditional subjects such as watercolors, acrylic, oil painting, soft pastel, colored pencils, and drawing, without referring to or using TikTok or YouTube art tutorials in class. A pair of Standard Poodles may be present. The stated mission is to cultivate a fun, open, easy-going atmosphere for children and adults.

Owner and instructor Antoinette De Paiva has over 30 years of teaching experience and holds a BA in Visual Arts from California State University at Northridge, a BA in Multiple Subject Teaching from Chapman University, and an MFA in Fine Art from Azusa Pacific University, along with CBEST and CSET Art 1,2. The leadership team includes Antoinette De Paiva as owner and instructor and artist Kris Sosa, who opened Antelope Valley School of Fine Art in 1989. The program’s history includes its origins as Antelope Valley School of Fine Art opened by Kris Sosa in 1989, Antoinette’s hiring as an assistant in 1994, Antoinette teaching separately by 2005, and the 2016 rebranding of ADSFA to become Artuity Creative Studio. Antoinette is involved in the performing arts community through the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale as an alto, Antelope Valley College dance shows, and as a cast member with Antelope Valley Ballet.
