Engineering Student Programs offers internships for high school and college age students. The internships include hands-on project work alongside staff, and paid internships are available. The program also includes paid summer internships for undergraduate and graduate students, neurodiversity internships, community college partnerships, the Las Positas College Engineering Tech Program, and the Ohlone College Smart Manufacturing in the Silicon Valley Internship Program for community college students interested in Manufacturing or Product Design.

About the provider
Engineering has several programs that prepare students for future STEM careers. Applications typically open in early winter for summer start dates.
For the paid internship program that funds neurodivergent interns, registration with a CA Regional Center, which includes a medical diagnosis, is required; being high school/college age is required; and the student needs to be a California resident. A preferred field of study that fits the Lab’s current needs is also required. Prospective interns can also apply to be funded under SULI and the Community College programs run by DOE.
